Remember those summers as a kid when your only responsibility was to go out and play?
Those were the days.
Reclamation of Youth Day, established 11-years-ago by Jacson Bevens and his friend Caleb Visser, gives "adults" the opportunity to relieve those days with all the activities of their childhood.
Bevens said that as young adults, he and Visser knew adulthood was upon them, but didn't want to just leave their youth behind.
"We were afraid it'd be easy to forget what it was like to be a kid," Bevens said.
So they set aside one day every year (which has grown to be a three day event) to just do the things they used to do when they were ten--ride bikes, play games, swim.
Opening ceremonies began on Wednesday with a huge water balloon fight at Boulevard Park. Bevens said the bike jump, pictured above, has become one of the most popular events.
We were bummed we couldn't make it to any of the events. But a special thanks goes out to Gabrielle Kazuko Nomura and Casey Grant Gainor, for putting their big-kid lives on hold for the day.
